Job Summary:

The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach and all other coaches in providing quality badminton lessons through coaching, evaluation of programs, and various administrative tasks. The Assistant Coach will report to the Head Coach.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Always be prepared and on time for lessons
• Participate in any training, information sessions, and staff meetings
• Become familiar with the mission, vision and values of Lee’s Badminton Training Centre
• Become familiar with the agenda of the lessons
• Assist the Head Coach or other coaches in the delivery of the lessons
• Create lesson plans for private lessons
• Observe and analyse skills during lessons and at tournaments
• Provide feedback for improvement to students
• Complete administrative duties as required

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of coaching experience in the sport of badminton
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team as well as with little supervision/guidance
• Ability to carry out lessons in both 1:1 and group settings
• Sound knowledge of the rules, skills and strategies involved in badminton
• Ability to motivate and encourage students to push their limits
• A background in competitive badminton is an asset
• Coaching certification, first aid and CPR certification is an asset
• Ability to speak another language is an asset

The Badminton Coach will assist in the development of quality badminton programs through coaching, program development, evaluation and various administrative tasks. The Badminton Coach will report to the Head Coach.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Always be prepared and on time for lessons
• Participate in any training, information sessions, and staff meetings
• Become familiar with the mission, vision and values of Lee’s Badminton Training Centre
• Become familiar with the agenda of the lessons
• Create lesson plans for private lessons and group lessons
• Assist students in the planning their competitive schedule
• Prepare students for competition
• Observe and analyse skills during lessons and at tournaments
• Provide feedback for improvement to students
• Complete administrative duties as required


Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of coaching experience in the sport of badminton
• Minimum of 5 years national and/or international competition experience
• Possess interest and passion in developing the sport of badminton
• Strong desire and dedication to the development of young athletes to compete in the national/international level
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team as well as with little supervision/guidance
• Ability to carry out lessons in both 1:1 and group settings
• Sound knowledge of the rules, skills and strategies involved in badminton
• Ability to motivate and encourage students to push their limits

Pro-Shop Receptionist

Job Summary:

The Pro-Shop Receptionist (PSR) is the first person our customers see when they enter our facilities.
The PSR will provide excellent customer service to our customers and assist other staff members with administrative duties in order to maintain an effective working environment.

Duties include:

• Maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for members and customers
• Greet members, answer telephone and inquiries, retail sales from pro-shop
• Respond to inquiries regarding membership packages, fee, coaching lessons, court rentals, equipment purchases, etc.
• Manage membership registration and court bookings
• Checking membership cards, account status, workout and guest registration
• Accepting payments and generating receipts for renewals, dues, lost cards and processing retail transactions
• Any other responsibilities that would be required to maintain effective operations of the front desk including - issuing photo id cards, addressing
• Other administrative duties as required

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Enthusiastic, energetic and pleasant personality
• Maintain a positive and courteous attitude at all times
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to take initiative
• Ability to multi-task
• Previous customer service and retail experience is an asset
• Ability to speak a second language is an asset
